Ardingly Rowers excel IN the water too A team of Junior Rowers from Ardingly Rowing Club took part in the Haywards Heath Lions Club Swimarathon on Good Friday.
The girls swam 163 lengths in 55 minutes, averaging just over 20 seconds perlength.
At the end of the swim they were surprised to find they still had energy
left-over, so they are now planning to do it again next year and to aim for
the record of 214 lengths!
The Ardingly Rowers raised over £600 through sponsorship for their efforts –
and this is to be split 50:50 between Ardingly Rowing Club and The Lions'
chosen charity for 2015 SERV (Service by Emergency Rider Volunteers) Sussex,
a charity which provides rapid, free and reliable volunteer emergency
transport of blood, blood products, x-rays, patient notes, laboratory
samples and human breast milk to hospitals at night.
Junior Coach, David Clark, said, “This is an exceptionally good result, and
we are very proud of our team.”
Late donations will still be welcomed at
