Six of our Junior rowers were selected to race at the Junior Inter-Regional Regatta 2022 representing the Thames South East region.  Two more, Gus and Cherry, were very close to selection (Gus thwarted by illness and Cherry racing up a year group pipped at the post by Bea from Bewl Bridge).  This was a multi-lane Regatta held at the National Water Sports Centre, Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham.  

Annunicata raced in WJ14 1x and finished 2nd in her race.  The two WJ14 1x races were then combined giving Annunciata 5th place overall on timings.  Top placed Ardingly sculler on the day.

Toby and Reuben raced in MJ16 2x and finished 5th in their race and 11th overall.

Kai and Tom M raced in MJ15 2x and finished 5th in their race and 10th overall.

Ellen raced in the WJ14 2x with Bea from Bewl and finished 5th in their race and 10th overall.

Conditions were bad - the photos of Bea and Ellen's race (over on FB) show the waves alongside the boat.  But our squad kept smiling and all raced well.  They earned their regional representation t-shirts.  Toby and Reuben will be too old to race at JIRR 2023 but we hope the others will get another chance to shine.
