June Races

We had 20 entries at British Rowing Masters Champs in Nottingham where we didn't quite reach the dazzling heights of our 2022 Victor Ludorum win, but we did come away with some medals and another good weekend of Club spirit and pulling together.  We also provided a whole host of volunteers for the Organising Committee who put on the event .. me on the OC itself, Jo S on registration ALL weekend, Mick on site set up and breakdown and on the incoming pontoon with Jon C, Jon W on prize-giving, Carol and Claudia on intermediate timing and Esther and Pete on reserve duty.  Our medals came from Womens Mas E 2- (non-champ) GOLD for Claudia and Carol; Womens MasD 4+ (non-champ) GOLD for Maja, Claudia, Charlene and Carol coxed by Anna VL and in Maidstone's boat; Women's MasE 4x (champ) BRONZE for Esther, Linda, Charlene and Carol, Open Mas H2x (champ) BRONZE for Slavo and Ian, Womens MasF 2x (champ) BRONZE for Ursula and TSS, Womens Mas E4- (champ) GOLD for Linda, Ursula, Esther and Derwent, Womens Mas F4+ (champ) GOLD for Ursula with TSS and Derwent, and Open MasH 2- (champ) GOLD for Slavo and Ian.

Last weekend Annunciata finished 4th of 16 in WJ15 1x, with Cherry and Ellen finishing 7th of 12 in WJ15 2x at Peterborough Junior Regatta - a good multi-lane event for our younger juniors to target.  Annunciata will go on to race at British Rowing Junior Champs in Strathclyde later in July.
Before that we have six crews entered at Henley Masters Regatta next weekend, and then a bunch of Masters entries in to race at Munich for the European Masters Regatta at the end of July.

Jago and Cal were selected to attend the Student Talent Development day at Dorney Lake last week and have further been invited to Nottingham for a four day camp in August.  Rosey and Eva from our Forever Ardingly students were also picked for Exeter Uni.
